Eszkulápnak készült egy gazdikereső videó, melyet sokan meg is néztek - mondjuk a telefonom nem csörgött utána sem őrült módon, hogy csak őt akarná bárki is.
My boy-friend and me were also watching the video and we both knew what I was afraid to say... Even the two dogs were more than we have ever planned. But my boy-friend said: "We do not want to give him away, do we?" And yes, we cannot send him away, he is ours. Eszkuláp has known it since he moved in. At that time we were hoping to find a dedicated family who makes Eszki happy.
Months passed and our life was totally changed. We got used to do double walks as we can walk with the "girls" first and then comes Eszki as he has his own speed and needs. I must confess that he is the faster and we need to hurry all the time but anyway: one person cannot walk with three dogs at a time as our dogs are not really educated.
When we go shopping it is natural to buy baby wipes, baby cream, diapers as we need all of these for emptying Eszki's urine. We have blankets all over the flat as he needs to wrap himself into something just not to get frozen.
He and the cat have become friends, they do not remember the times when Eszki had different kind of plans. Both of our bitches seem to like him, only one of them beats him up time to time when Eszki forgets about how to compliment a girl in a nice way. All of us love him even if it is a hard burden from some aspect and huge responsability. I might have wanted to prevent us from the decision that needs to be made. It will be hard that this is the end when the bladder cannot last longer due to the pressing of it all the time to empty urine, when the bacteria collected cause a seriuous inflammation... Eszkuláp will not be old at this time, I assume and all of those who know me must admit that such a decision is a very though one for me and even if I have to act God sometimes, I carry the weight of my decisions as my cross till the end of my life.
But Eszkuláp is a dog with its own family, he is no longer looking for a new home, he stays with us. We accepted one another. We learn a lot from him about submission, lust for life, buoyancy. I hope that we will have long time together.
If I can finish my post now, I would be happy. But our days are not this boring and pink-sparkle sprinkled... Those who read our news must know that there are only a very few weeks when we have no new dogs coming into our care. I announce that we have no more place and then comes another dachshund in need where we need to find a solution. And so we did for Bandi. He was a dog with a family but still a street dog on the other hand. He spent most of his time in the street but he had an owner who beat him and locked him into a cage. But we managed to take him into care and he could move to Niki and her boy-friend temporarily. It couldn't have been arranged so smoothly if there are no Edit and her husband, András who organised the transport.
We not only collect new dogs but bring back some of the earlier ones sometimes. Trufa left for a week of holiday as the new family could not cope with Trufa's barking that was caused by the stress of separation. The neighbours also complained. So we have to continue to advertise her: an owner is needed who has a dog already just to keep Trufa entertained and who keeps the dogs inside the house as she is a real indoor dog: she is housebroken, behaves quite nicely in the house and loves sleeping on the sofa. She can use the sofa of Monika again - to whom I must say a BIG thank you!
Thesis changed his dog pension place for a temporary family. He moved to a girl who is a great singer (Mig-Rain Band) and who adopted a wire-haired Hungarian vizsla from our organisation before called Táltos. Thesis got settled quite quickly so the two "wires" got connected. We hope to find a family of his own soon. Luca, thanks a lot.
Violin had her appointment at the VET - she was operated. She had to go through the normal neutering but her eyes also needed an operation to remove the so called Harder-gland. Her teeth were a disaster due to her having chewed the fence before so some of them were also removed. She recovered well after the surgery. She gets friendlier with humans little by little. She would need an owner with lots of patience and love who is preferably a single and has no huge expectations. Temporary families are also welcome.
It is refreshing to having to mention our Klotild as I started to worry that she will be forgot... She was visited by a mum and her child with the intention of adopting her. Klotild does not like kids and that can be a barrier but the family is not yet scared away. We shall see...
We collected 273 kgs of dry food at our regular "food collecting day" at Fressnapf. Thanks a lot! We had our Tigris and Ladár beside the "basic group" Zoé with us to advertise our work and keep our stand busy with visitors. Manfréd, who used to be in our care, also visited us that day.
I must say a very special thanks to our hyperactive pregnant lady, Kriszta who seems to be everywhere and organises things for us. She had a huge share in our traditional Christmas charity, she designed our give-away calendar, she stores all the items for our auction, she takes photos of them to allow me to upload their description. She is supergirl, I cannot even tell more. She will give birth to her first child, Albert in some months. We cannot wait to see him as he is already with us on our events - but hiding. Kriszta, I would be happy to know a word that expresses how we grateful we are for all your help. Thanks a lot!
Szeretném, ha a tacskósok, kutyások, olvasóink meglepnék Krisztát valamivel, nem nagy dolgokra gondolok, a lényeg: legyen rajta tacskó vagy valamilyen kutya. Szóba jöhet új, fiús babaruha, játékok, bármi. Az ajándékokat december végéig várnánk a Futrinka Egyesület központi postai címén, a dobozon a felirattal: Üdv Albert! Remélem, hogy sokan csatlakoztok, tényleg jó lenne megörvendeztetni Krisztáékat. Külföldről is lehet ám ajándékot küldeni!
I thought that it would be nice to give back some of the attention to Kriszta that she has given to us and our dogs. I believe that we all know items with dachshund or dog design that can be used around a little boy: new clothes, toys, anything. Gifts can be posted to the official address of our association with the sign on the box: Welcome Albert. I hope to convince many of you to join, it would be so good to show Kriszta that there are things done for her, too. We can accept parcels from abroad, too.
